Feminist translation theory, Translator subjectivity, Deconstruction, Theoretical reflection.

Based on deconstructionism, feminist translation theory aims to question the logocentric and gender-invisible nature of traditional translation theories by foregrounding translator subjectivity and gender intervention. But its anti-empiricist theoretical background and the inclination towards excessive strategic manipulation in the process of translation have undermined linguistic normativity and communicative role of translation. In the globalization context, the theory has become more niche and elitist, which makes it hard to explain the various types of oppression that women translators in the Global South face. This demonstrates a certain logic of discursive re-disciplining and an intrinsic theoretical paradox, which necessitates revision of paradigms and reconstruction of strategies in a cross-cultural approach.
