Eco-Translatology, English translation of Zang-fu organs, International dissemination of TCM.
In this paper we investigate the theory and practice on translating TCM Zang-fu terminology into English from a perspective of Eco-Translatology. Based on "three-dimensional transformation" (linguistic, cultural, and communicative), Eco-Translatology investigates how translators adapt their choices under the translation ecosystem by balancing between terminological accuracy, cultural connotations, and communicative effectiveness. It is suggested that Eco-Translatology provides systematic theoretical support for the English translation of TCM terminology; it encourages translators to retain the cultural essence of TCM as well as foster an effective academic and communicative environment in cross-cultural dissemination.
